The Diamond DA62 is class leading twin engine light aircraft offering outstanding fuel economy and payload capabilities.

From the factory, there are a range of paint schemes and colour themes that you can choose when customizing your new aircraft.

This pack recreates 6 of the factory Desire Paint Scheme Colour options plus the Dawn gloss white scheme as outlined on their website in 2021.

Package includes a self installation executable. You will need to know the location of your Microsoft Flight Simulator Community folder to complete installation.

Why do you use an installer and not just give me the files like other liveries here?

That is a great question! Let me try and answer at least my reasoning and interpretation.

It has been said that than “all flight simmers know how to install mods” or “we don’t need an installer”, and for the vast majority of users, this is most definitely true. Yet, that is exactly the point, “the vast majority of users” is NOT everyone.

Our hobby should not be restricted or gatekept to virtual aviators with extensive experience of flight simming; it should be as open and as accessible as possible. The seasoned veteran with 10000 desktop flight hours has as much right to be able to easily access content as someone who has installed their very first sim and is picking up a controller for the first time. The reality is, is that our hobby with its technical nature has been gatekeeping itself and holding itself back for years, the ability to create and deliver installers for content like this means it is more accessible than ever before, and that is a good thing. Someone should not have to have extensive knowledge of file structures, sequences or coding to be able to enjoy the thrill of soaring above the clouds.

I have been creating liveries, scenery and aircraft for many years, and have always dreamed of a time when we can offer it without requiring a user to have extensive technical knowledge. I will always fight to make our hobby more accessible to as many virtual aviators as possible.

At the end of the day, the same content is delivered either way. Some have complained that this content won't work with mod managers. It will, you just have to install it to a dummy directory then follow the mod manager instructions. This is no different from Aerosoft, PMDG, Just Flight or any other developer who releases content via an installer. If you are using a mod manager, then you are already ahead of the curve of many so this should not be a major issue to you.

There has also been concern raised over “untrusted” installers, how in this day and age there are more and more instances of information breaches and other security concerns. These are perfectly valid points, and I do not refute them. I take what steps I can to mitigate concerns by having these scanned by AV platforms both when constructed and then rescanned before they are submitted here. There have been instances where I have received false positives, I have worked with Anti-Virus providers to try and resolve this, and where that has not been possible, then I have offered my content without the installer.

Finally, I do this because this is not the only platform I distribute content on, as well as the fact I produce both Freeware and Payware content. Thus, being able to redistribute an installer with its associated ability to provide Readme links and presentation of my EULA for acknowledging and accepting is an important part of my work and user experience goal.

Pretty empty over here.
